Challenge 29

Introduction

With rapidly growing populations and the constant threat of Climate Change, we urgently need to find more environmentally friendly ways of producing the food we need. Many businesses are now looking at insect protein and fish farming as potential solutions.

Supposedly these options could provide us the nutrients we need far more efficiently than the cattle and poultry we rely so heavily on at the moment.
Efficiency here refers to the amount of water and land required to "produce" the meat, as well as to the Carbon Emissions cause by this production.

A serious problem with the above solutions is that many people don't like the idea of eating insects and prefer eating red meat to eating fish.

People's diets do actually have a real impact on the environment:

As nations become wealthier, they tend to eat more red meat per person. The Chinese now eat nearly three times as much meat as in 1990.

Let's see how we might be able to change this...

Your Challenge

You are the CEO of a startup company that specializes in mass behavior change.

Years ago you came across the book "Made to Stick" by Chip and Dan Heath and much of your strategy for influencing people's behaviour stems from the principles in this book.
A quick summary of the book: Made To Stick Summary

Now, using the principles from the book, write a short story that will convince people to eat insects and/or fish rather than red meat...

(This will later be printed as a book and/or made into a short video to show to patients entering treatment for the firs time)
