How do the leaderboard points work?

How do the leaderboard points work?

A detailed description of the AGEC leaderboard scoring system

* Note that the national individuals leaderboard and the national schools leaderboard update only once per day. There may therefore be some discrepancies on your score across the various leader-boards and your player profile.

(1) The Individuals Leaderboards

Each challenge submitted will undergo peer review to obtain a mark.

Note that your challenge will only enter the peer review process once you have completed the 3 mandatory peer reviews for that challenge!

The total points available for each challenge will vary from challenge to challenge.

* Note that players can also earn points by:

 - Doing discretionary peer review. (The icon in the game world with a tick box)

 - Completing their player profiles.

 - Completing the surveys in their player profile.

The individual leaderboard will then reflect the total points earned by each player.

(1A) The Weekly Leaderboard

The points on the weekly leaderboard work just the same as described above, except that scores will reset to 0 at the beginning of each new week. The top 10 finishers each week will earn some exciting AGEC prizes!

(2) The Schools Leaderboard

The score for each school is calculated as follows:
School Score = Average Points per registered student x (1 + 1.5 x e/S + e/40)

Where     e = number of "engaged players" at the school.

And         S = The number of Grade 8-11 learners at the school.

And         An "Engaged Player" is any registered player averaging at least 150 points per week.

I.e. The more "engaged students" you have in the game, the higher the multiplier for the school leader-board.

# Note that we reserve the right to change this algorithm during the first few weeks of the Challenge. Should this happen, the new formula will be communicated with all registered schools. (The formula will not be changes in the final 2 weeks of the Challenge)

## Note that a school needs to have at least 20 "engaged students" in order to qualify for the national school's leaderboard.
