Wrapping up #AGEC19

Wrapping up #AGEC19

Dear AGEC Community

It's been another exciting year full of amazing ideas and memorable experiences.
Please see some key notes below, regarding wrap up of the 2019 game-play season.

Moderation process now complete
  • Note that our moderation team managed to get through 85% of the remark requests submitted. This was done in a fair manner - where everyone had the same number of remarks done for each week.
  • Note that the remark request form for each week allowed learners to choose 3 challenges for the week to be remarked. The form clearly stated that only 1 submission was allowed per learner per week (i.e. limited to 3 challenge remarks per week). In cases where the form was submitted multiple times, only a single submission (3 challenges) was chosen (at random) for remark. Unfortunately we did not have capacity to review more than this. Improving the peer review system will be a key focus for next year.

Points for discretionary review + Inviting Friends (+ Audit process)
  • We are aware of the system glitched that in many cases caused these points not to pull through in the learner portal. Our developers ran a script at the end of the challenge that manually added these points to learner scores during the final audit process. Our external auditors have reviewed this data and have approved the process as fair and complete.
  • Note that the points mentioned above may not have pulled through to the learner portal, but would have been considered in determining the final winners lists.

Points earned after close of the competition
  • The advertised end date for the challenge has always been midnight on Friday 4 October.
  • Any points seemingly earned after this date would not have been considered for the final winner calculations. (Except for challenge submissions made before the deadline, where scores were finalized between 5-9 October)
  • We apologize for the error made on Social Media on Monday 6 October, which called for further submissions. Challenge submissions after the 4th of October were not possible on the system.

Prizes outstanding
  • Note that Weekly winners for weeks 3,4 and 5 will be announced shortly on our Social Media channels. Winners will also receive an sms notification. (Assuming you've entered your correct mobile number at registration)
  • If you won a weekly prize earlier in the competition, but have not yet received it (sms with a voucher code for withdrawal at an ATM) please contact info@entrepreneurshipchallenge.co.za with the following info: Your Full name, Your School, What you won the prize for (e.g. Week 2 Weekly leaderboard - 6th place/R150), Your mobile number.

End of game-play technical issues/misunderstandings
  • Hidden leaderboard - we intentionally hide the leader-boards at the end of the competition to build suspense for the final winner announcements at the Gala Event.
  • Deleting of duplicate account - Unfortunately we didn't manage to delete all duplicate accounts this time around. We will be tightening up on this front in future - to ensure that any duplicates are merged at the start of the competition.

Learner Certificates
  • Note that teachers are able to print learner certificates from their teacher portal. This articles shows you how to do so.
  • Note that certificates for top learners will display as blank. These learners will be receiving their extra special certificates at the Gala Event.

Gala Awards Event + Announcement of Final Winners
  • Top teachers and Top learners for AGEC 2019 have received personal invites to the Gala Award Event, to be held on Sat the 19th of October in Johannesburg.
  • Weekly and overall Prize Winners will then be publicly announced shortly after the event.
  • For any event related queries, please contact Mr Roheid Ojageer at info@entrepreneurshipchallenge.co.za
